From London to Cape Town: TopLine goes global

Some believe good things come to those who wait. Not us. At TopLine, we believe good things come to those who work.
So as the world flocked to England for the Rugby World Cup, the second royal baby was born, Zayn left One Direction (devastating news for some, we’re sure) and the widely anticipated Star Wars movie was released, team TopLine has been hard at work getting results. Oh, and we also managed to fit all this lot in over the last few months….
1.    Awesome events
We’re always on the lookout for ways to improve our service and expand our knowledge base. So in September, we were back in the States for the second time (after our jaunt to Seattle in July for MozCon) where we joined 15,000 fellow HubSpotters at Inbound 15. Over the four days we attended talks on how to write killer content and perfect our marketing tactics, learnt all there is to know about the Inbound ‘Movement’ and caught up with the HubSpot team at Club Inbound.
Back on home turf, we were also proud sponsor of the Festival of Marketing. We showcased our video department and also found time to catch some of the headline speakers including Alan Sugar (bit of a bizarre choice to be honest, as he knows nothing about marketing) and Chris Hatfield (who through his 21 years as an astronaut, 3 spaceflights and 2,600 orbits of Earth is pretty much the coolest guy on the planet), as well as catch-up with fellow marketers during the after party.
But the highlight? Heather’s talk on pushing the boundaries with video. It went down an absolute storm and we had people queuing up to talk to our founder and CEO . . . and she didn’t even have Devon with her.
2.    Exciting new clients
As a fast-growing, ambitious young company (we closed the year with revenue up 29% and operating profit up 46%, you know) we love nothing more than finding equally ambitious and exciting new clients to work with.
And as fintech is our thing, we’re delighted to be working with not one, not two, but three awesome new fintech companies. We’ve welcomed institution-to-peer loan provider Nucleus, digital financial services company RedCloud and Trendrating, which provides tools to maximise investment performance.
3.    Awards
TopLine’s B2B PR Blog is no stranger to awards, and 2015 was no different. The UK Agency Awards panel of judges was suitably impressed by Heather’s PR and marketing knowledge, advice and page of pet peeves. (Not sure what we’re on about? Check out the blog’s steaming barrel page). The B2B PR Blog walked away with the 2015 Agency Blog Award.
4.    Flawless video
Did you know we make videos? (If you don’t – where have you been?) Well our video team has been exceptionally busy of late.
We’re experts at using animation to describe notoriously complicated concepts. Something Artificial Solutions can attest to. Check out the video.
And when Allen-Vanguard wanted to create a bespoke animation to explain their customised tech solutions for defeating terrorist and extremist threats, such as Radio Controlled IEDs (RCIEDs), we rose to the challenge – producing this cool video.
And while animation is awesome we also create flawless live action videos, and we’ll even combine the two if that is what you’re after.
Check out Conversocial’s video explaining the real-life applications of their social customer service software
5.    A new international office
And last but by no means least, we officially opened our Cape Town office. We’re within walking distance of the beach, just a short drive from many of South Africa’s finest wine farms and we look out over Table Mountain (did someone say it was snowing in London?). It’s just one office dog short of perfect.
Jokes aside, we only hire the best people, and now we have a whole bunch more great people to choose from. And not forgetting that the Cape Town office is a great opportunity for our London employees to get a tan (or ridiculously sunburnt).
Sounds exhausting, right? Well we wouldn’t have it any other way and 2016 is set to be the best yet.
We’ll be attending MozCon 2016 (watch out, Rand) and we’ll be back at Inbound 16 too. We’ll be welcoming new TopLiners to our international offices and if you’re in need of an integrated comms strategy this year, then we can’t wait to meet you.
