SERP’s up! Download our Essential B2B SEO eBook
In the B2B community, eBooks are kind of like mothers: everyone’s got one, and they all stink. We’re proud to consider ourselves an exception: our Essential B2B SEO eBook is a valuable resource, and we put a lot of time, effort, and research into creating it.
Why did we bother? Well, it’s a complicated discipline. We can tell you that first-hand: we began life as a PR-only firm, and becoming a reputable B2B SEO agency took a lot of work. We had one part of the process down-pat – when you’re getting articles and comments published on a regular basis, you’re going to attract inbound links – but there was much left to learn, and a resource like this would have been mighty useful.
Why SEO matters
Before the internet, selling a product or service involved some combination of advertising, personal charm, and actually having something worth buying. In the digital age, they’re still important – but if you’re not placed prominently on Google for your target keywords, you may as well not exist. Search engines are the means by which we gather information and make decisions; the place where we choose what to buy and who to buy it from. If you want to increase traffic, inbound leads, awareness and revenues, it’s essential that you’re ranked as highly as possible.
Of course, that’s more easily said than done. SEO is a complex, ongoing process with a number of different steps. It’s about writing compelling, readable content with strategically placed keywords. It’s about generating links and improving your reputation, and it’s about creating an intelligent, intuitive, and organised site structure. It is, on some very minor level, about social media – but then, so are most things these days.
Creating a strategy that incorporates all of these things (and more) can be difficult. Reading an eBook written by a B2B SEO agency won’t be a substitute for that – but it will be a good start.
Why you should download The Essential B2B Guide to SEO
The barrier to entry for SEO is pretty high. For one thing, the jargon is never simple and understandable when it can be dense and impenetrable: if you don’t know what the Nofollow tag means, what a 301 redirect is, or the difference between Google’s Penguin, Panda, and Hummingbird updates, you’d be forgiven for feeling a bit lost. We’ve included a helpful glossary that clearly defines and explains what each of these things is and why they matter.
But these are just the things you need to know before you get started. When you actually get started, it doesn’t let up: as we’ve said, it’s a complex, ongoing process, but within it are contained other complex, ongoing processes. It’s like a Babushka doll, if Babushka dolls made you want to tear your own face off.
We wrote the SEO eBook to simplify this multifaceted, often frustrating discipline – because for all the effort you’ll have to put into getting those top three places, the rewards will always, always be worth it. It can be hard to see when you’re up to your eyebrows in sitemaps and schema markups, granted, but it is worth it.
