Promoting graduate recruitment
Client: Give A Grad A Go

Their Brief

Give A Grad A Go’s (GAGAGO) all-star recruitment team sources quality grads (mostly 2.1 plus) for paid placements in London businesses. They work quickly and efficiently without requiring too much input from employers through the selection process.

Graduate recruitment has been beset by controversy, with unpaid internships exposed as exploitative and discriminatory against students who cannot afford to work for free. GAGAGO wanted to show how paid placements offer a win-win situation for the employer and the graduate – juxtaposing this practice against long-standing unpaid internships.

What We Did

An issues-led PR campaign was underpinned by a series of Freedom of Information requests which revealed that the Graduate Talent Pool website, set up by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), offered many unpaid internships. TopLine made this story central to its campaign and complemented it with a series of business profiles, opinion pieces, surveys, infographics and blogs to cement GAGAGO as the authority on quality graduate recruitment.

Over a four month period, more than 70 pieces of positive coverage were secured on national, business and recruitment sites, that raised awareness of the importance of grads in the workplace and generated a number of new business enquiries for GAGAGO.
